This appears to have been scanned in a slide mount. Is it an older shot, or do you get current slides mounted with the intention of projecting them (or you just find them easier to handle)?

It's a slide from August 2019 which I scanned at home and I got mounted at the time of processing. My local lab that does E6 doesn't do mounting any longer, so I had to send these to Dwayne's. They use the old cardboard curved slide mounts.

I get my trip slides mounted with no scans from Dwayne's and my local E6 shooting I just get processed and scanned at the local lab. I do find mounted slides easier to handle/store and they are also easier to scan on my home scanner, which has a 35mm slot for mounted slides. This works out OK for me, it's just my home scanning that's the problem. Never can get them as nice looking as what the lab does. As for the trip slides I do project them on my Kodak slide projector.

In the past I got some scanning improvement by remounting 35mm slides in gepe glass mounts (I still have an old box of unused mounts kicking around). Haven't tried it with my current scanner (v600) yet. I did scan some E6 medium format (unmounted) in it a while back, and got really good results. Intuitively though, I think it would be better to scan 35mm unmounted strips, assuming you are using a flatbed like me.

I develop my E6 now and leave the slides in strips. I use my Sony NEX 7 to make digital copies of them, and I have a roll film stage that I use with my macro rig for duping them. If I wanted to scan them with my scanner, I'd just use the 35mm negative carrier.

I've got a Pacific Prime 35mm scanner that can scan only 35mm mounted slides or negative strips, one shot at a time. It's very small and limited in function.

It has Silverfast s/w with a Kodachrome profile, so those slides scan the best.

From a walk around the neighborhood last week.

Pentax KX with SMC-A 28mm f2.8 lens on expired Fuji 800 negative film (that wonderful press film from the 1980s)
The film is less wonderful now... this was shot at ISO 400 and still underexposed a bit. Grain is everywhere.
Developed and scanned by the shop down the street.

I honestly do not remember the lens, camera, or film used for this shot... nevertheless it is one of my favourites...

Not really a shot for pixel-peeping, as I think I was a bit front-focused. Camera was mostly steady at least, which was good as this was definitely no faster than 1/60.

Also discovered, while cleaning the prisim, that the previous owner had installed a -0.15 diopter. Guessing that's why I've been finding it easier to focus without my glasses than normal.

Very nice shot! I like the color rendering of the film. I have been using it for a little while..

Bought a V600 scanner so I could scan in my own film negatives. Testing out this image, this is a scan of a negative from 1996. Taken at Fallingwater with a Pentax IQ 160 zoom that my parents owned.
Nice photo... I think it’s on spot, considering the architectural character of this unique building..
