Thanks. The lens is a 45 mm 1.7. I set the camera on full auto to see how well it meters. It is a little bit unnerving to trust the camera to get proper exposure. I also have the Yashica Electro 35 GSN and ran a roll through but managed to misplace the cartridge before sending it off for processing. I am quite disappointed but still trying to locate the lost film.

The Yashinon 45/1.8 on the Lynx is a decent lens. I cut my teeth on a Lynx 1000 when I was in high school. Unfortunately it was stolen to be replaced some time later with a Singlex TLS, but I liked the camera so much that I purchased a replacement about a decade ago. That camera has been waiting for a repair to its aperture linkage, but is in otherwise very good condition with a functioning meter. It is pictured below with a Lynx 5000, fully functional except for the meter.

FWIW, I prefer both the look and the handling of the 1000.

...and a sample from the Lynx 1000...

how cool !!! and a big oops it's the 5000 I have film in with a functioning meter (or atleast i will discover when I finish the roll) but it is quite responsive to light and adjustment of speed or fstop and within reason of other meters.....I can't recall if the selenium cell is responsive on the 1000

I do have a 1000 but the lens is dislodged from the body so merely a shelf/display piece as are a few other yashica bodies I have whether RF or SLR
