A few shots from my latest roll.
I really like the bottom image. Delta never really expires...it just gets more, um, character as it gets older.

Thanks!

My lab was closed for a couple weeks at the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, but has reopened with a new social distance plan.

- All film for processing has to be dropped in a slot in the side of the building, in the supplied order mark-up envelopes. (You can do this 24x7)
- Pickup is Monday to Wednesday by appointment only.

So my new routine now is every Monday I walk to the lab and drop off this weeks film and pickup last weeks. This weeks film scans will be ready Wednesday afternoon for download and I will get an email when they are ready. I then call the lab and prepay for this weeks processing/scans and book a time to pickup them up the following Monday. Repeat weekly......

The lab also sells film, so I can add that to my order if I need any.

I have Monday's off so this works out well for me and lets me do my shooting over the weekend. (I don't work Friday's either)

Phil.
The lab in my town is more a camera shop that still has a machine running from back when film was the norm.
I asked but they didn't find it useful to still develop while the lockdown measures were in place.

My previous lab in Brussels is still open with measures in place, but I would have to take a train which I can't for a "non-essential" journey.
I'd argue it's pretty essential for my sanity but I'm guessing the police would differ ;-)

All in all just very happy nobody in my immediate surroundings is sick and I don't have to worry about my job.
It's been challenging working from home with a 2- & a 3-year old though .

'My' lab (I guess there are a few options here, but the one I habitually use on account of price/quality evaluation) has been accepting mail order film dev for some weeks, so last week I bit the bullet after having accumulated 4 rolls, plus I had one completed just before lockdown which I hope will be included in the mail-back. Fingers crossed they turn out and aren't mangled by the post office. Cost is ~2x walk in due to shipping, factoring in discounts. Hopefully by the time I've got more stuff they'll be re-opened.

I admire your courage. The Brussels-based lab does mail-in as well (even sends the negatives back for free), but I'm too paranoid about something getting damaged or lost in shipping.

I've been shooting like a madman since the quarantine happened. I must have about 30 rolls to drop off. I don't think I've ever shot as much in such a short period. But looking through the lens after a stressful day really seems to help.

I don't yet have anything to show for it, but during the quarantine I've been shooting mostly either high ISO or very low. The high has been Tr-X or Kodak P3200 at 1600 for indoor shooting using the Z-1 and 43mm Limited or HD FA 35/2. I find with decent window light I can get reasonable shutter speeds at f/2.5 or so, where both of these lenses are already sharp.

I've also got my first rolls of Rollei RPX 25 which I've had in my K2DMD. I've wanted to try this film for ages because I calculate that on a sunny-16 day I can get to f/2.8 on a camera with a 1/1000s max shutter speed limit, and in the shade I can still get 1/125s or so. That's perfect for central Spain and I've been getting through it fast. Last roll was shot with K 50/1.4 and M 50/1.7 and I'm going to see if I can do the whole current one with the 43mm. I'm really looking forward to the results.

Surely the risk of something getting damaged in the post over a relatively short distance is minimal?
I recently did a mail order of 11 rolls to a lab in Sydney. That's the other side of the continent from where I live, almost 4000km! Apart from taking a long time due to covid-inflicted freight delays, everything was fine.
Being in an isolated city with few lab options, many other film shooters I know regularly post their film. I'm yet to hear of something getting damaged.

I've never sent film for developing and the only time I've ever lost a roll was when it broke off the clip in the local lab I use and ended up being in the chemicals for far too long. Avoiding posting is no guarantee that you'll get everything back.
