These images have a special charm to them I can't describe. I'd add a hint of contrast and a sepia filter to the digitized version just for fun.

Bright colors that match those of competing males or of competing species might repel the birds people are hoping to attract to their nesting boxes. Some species might not care, but those are probably more aggressive species. If somebody is trying to provide nesting habitat for a rare or threatened species of hole-nesting bird, nest boxes closer to the color of dead trees that could have natural holes in them, is advised.

Backing paper marks? I didn't see these the first few times! Love the blue and the contrast

I guess the B&W one was first, as it appears the house on the left is occupied (or at least has been grabbed) based on the chewing up of the paint around the entrance in the color shot...

I tried to get f1.4, but it was too sunny for the K1000...

K1000, Rokinon 85mm f1.4, maybe as closed down as f5.6? maybe f4... Kodak Procolor 100

This was my first roll of the Procolor 100, and it seems pretty nice.
Maybe not as sharp as the Ektar, but no weird color shifts in my commercial scans, either...
