That being said I am sure with a bit more practice with the XPro3 settings he could have got more consistency out of the Acros simulation. I may have to revise my earlier assertion to "the Fuji colour film simulations do not look at all like the films they are meant to represent". To be honest I would not want them to. I want film to have its own unique look.
I am currently mourning not being able to get Fuji Superior in any film speed in 120 format for my Yashica 124G. I loved shooting that stuff on that camera for landscapes.
I have an Xpro3, and was all excited by the Classic Neg sim. While I like it, it behaves nothing like negative film. It blows out highlights and is very contrasty, which while is a look to its own, is nothing that colour negative film actually does. Interestingly, even though it is saved as a jpeg, a lot of these blown highlights can be recovered in post.
As for the B&W sims, they are very nice but too smooth compared to the real thing. Again you can do a lot of post work to them but then just shoot film.
