OK, nothing in the picture is straight...  Pentax MX, Zenitar 16mm f2.8 fisheye, Kodak Proimage 100 I've done a couple of black and white conversions with this, as I really like the shadow shapes, but I haven't really liked any of them any more than the color... -Eric | |

Another snap with the 18-55mm kit zoom on no brand ISO 400 film.  And a sort of -- but not quite -- comparison. First the 18-55mm zoom, then a 1947 Kodak Anastigmat 50mm/3.5 taken from a broken 35RF and converted to K mount. I should have thought to take a snap with the zoom at about 50mm but I didn't.   That ancient uncoated 74 year old Kodak Tessar is still the best 50mm I've ever owned. What it boils down to is that the kit lens that a photographer got on his Kodak rangefinder in 1947 was in some ways a better lens than his grandkid would have got on a new DSLR in 2017. That's progress for you.  | |
