Exactly. With the non-3:2 cameras I have that allow it (e.g. my phone and my little Panasonic LF-1), I keep them switched to 3:2 aspect ratio at the expense of the pixels just because I prefer composition options with a more elongated rectangle than a square or 'fat' rectangle after years of working with 135 and APS-C (plus, I can keep the raw image which has all of the pixels just in case I change my mind). Off topic in a film photography thread, I know, but the mindset is the same.
All of that said, I have started to warm up to the idea of composing with the 6x6, it just took about two dozen rolls of film to do that!
