Thanks! It's definitely a pain, but largely because I have a half-baked setup that was really only intended to work with 35mm film. Working with 6x9 on 120 film is turning out to be a very different experience than the 6x6. Not 'better' just 'different'. I do recommend it, though.

I quite like 6x9. Same aspect ratio as 35mm, which I find helps when I think about composition.

Exactly. With the non-3:2 cameras I have that allow it (e.g. my phone and my little Panasonic LF-1), I keep them switched to 3:2 aspect ratio at the expense of the pixels just because I prefer composition options with a more elongated rectangle than a square or 'fat' rectangle after years of working with 135 and APS-C (plus, I can keep the raw image which has all of the pixels just in case I change my mind). Off topic in a film photography thread, I know, but the mindset is the same.

All of that said, I have started to warm up to the idea of composing with the 6x6, it just took about two dozen rolls of film to do that!

Silbersalz Cat, 50asa and 500asa.

Pentax MG, M 50mm f2. Silbersalz35 Top is D50, bottom pic T500. (shot +1 stop).

In daylight I shot T500 with a 85C orange filter to correct the colour balance.

BTW: the black border on lower shot wasn't added in post to make it look retro! The scans you get back from Silbersalz include that border, and some pictures look a bit bare if it's cropped off.
