I had to exercise my P3n a bit to get it working again. I took it along to San Diego CA to make sure it still works. Film is Walmart-branded Fuji 200, a year old. Processing was Ritz one-hour with a scan to CD. Photos all have an odd high-key look and I don't know why - too many variables. This one was with my Sigma 16mm f2.8 fisheye. I tried to hide my reflection behind the object on the bumper.

Took out my fathers Petri 1.9 Rangefinder today. Kodak Gold 200 film, scanned and put on a CD at Target. One thing I noticed is that the viewfinder lies on this camera. Lots of things that I saw in the viewfinder did not end up on the photos, such as on the photo of the big white house, the chimney is cut off, and I know it wasn't that way in the viewfinder. Live and learn, next time, I'll back up a few more steps

I thought I saw that house before... is it the one at Faust Park, Chesterfield? Nice Picts, btw.

Yep, that's the one !! The former Governers mansion, Bates I believe? Faust Park is my "go to" spot when testing out new toys, haha, close to home, and plenty of good photo ops..

Well, two things: are you familiar with rangefinders in general? Framelines, parallax, etc? Also, machine prints have a tendency to not cover the full frame, you might check your negs and see if there's a bit more there.

It was the first time I've ever shot with a rangefinder. And I did check the negs, and they were the same as the prints unfortunately. I'll have to do a lil net surfin' to see if i can find some info on framing shots with a rangefinder. My pop also has a Kodak Retina IIa that I want to take out, everything seems to be in good shape on it.

Going for the Lo-Fi look, here are some Fuji 400 C41 Shots from Byron Bay, Australia 2007. I really should have stocked up on ISO 100 and some better lenses, but I was still a greenhorn. Some tweaks in LR to match the prints

Benz and Surfboard? Oh yes... (distortion on rear window is neg touching scanner)

Moderately cropped from original

Thank you very much the magic of late afternoon sun, eh?

One more from Byron, the Cape Byron Lighthouse, with the cheap film wonder, the FA-J 18-35mm

Cheap film is usually all I buy. That, B&W that I can push or expired "good film." Here in Japan, we have this stuff called DNP CENTURIA 100. Less then a 1.50 a roll and even cheaper if you get a whole lot of it expired. Really good stuff.
I want to purchase some nice Slide film from Kodak but it is hard to find on my Island and I dislike ordering it and taking weeks to get here.

My Wife, Hiromi. I forgot the film but shot using Cosina 55mm f/1.2

Daddy luna...I am am the king of cheap film.
Since I mostly do street shooting, I use the 99 cents film. I use the hyperfocal method on my ME SUPER, so that does more damage than does the film... In my other bodies that I use the least, I keep good film....
