I tried my first roll of Fuji press 800 and I have now found another film I do NOT like. The colors where all flat and the grain is rough and frankly ugly. I had no choice but to convert them to black and white...Still Ultramax 800 is the best of the 800 films I have used, which is not saying much....

Pentax me super, Fuji press 800 and smc-m50f/1.4

It was nice to see a the fireworks stand with a few customers yesterday. I for one did not buy any. I have no money I can afford to burn.
That grain looks even worse than my expired Agfa APX 400.

Back to messing with home developed color film: Expired Fuji HG 400 Super.
(I did a little toning on these in pp, the blue cast was already there though.)

And more: Imation 100 color film (made by Ferania I'm told)

Ok, time for some advice. If you want people to see your portrait, don't put it on the same post as your girlfriend

Seriously, though...Great work and I am in the I love my K1000 camp myself.
the k1000 has been awesome to me. I would like to get my hands on one of the spotmatics everyone raves about on here.
By the way, I voted for the photo contest. Geez, did things get ugly or what? I voted after the comments were taken down so I saw the tamed version. Last time I checked those contest were for fun. Guess some people would disagree.

That is the best 99 cents spent that I can think of.

Cheers,

You sure get some demented color -- I like! Maybe I missed it, if so, my apologies, but I want to understand your home color developing process.

Superia seems to be pretty good at night, the glarish reds and overly contrasty look of the film suits the night colors much better. This is handheld at f/2 with the 35mm Nikkor (the lens for which I went Nikon...)

I buy two bath kits made by Amaloco, but I think other manufacturers have similar products. One bath is developer, the other blix (bleach and fix). If you mess with the developing times and especially with the temperatures (which should normally be around 38 Celcius) you get colorshifts. The color shifts depend a lot on the film though, the blue toned (Fuji HG 400 Super) and purple toned roll (Imation/ferania 100) were developed in the same tank. The films I tried all shift in the same direction though>blue/purple

That night shot looks good. I was just thinking about trying some color film at night.

Here's Kodak Farbwelt 400 (which is identical to Gold 400 I think):
