I quite like the lifeguard chair one.... lower contrast sky gives it a very surreal feel

The chair is out of focus. It was pitch dark. I could barely see 2 feet in front of me, much less focus the camera. I guessed it at infinity, but I was a little off. The surreal feeling was what I was after with these. It kind of worked out. I'll know what to do next time.

I have to say, the quality of images here has gone up a few notches lately, with excellent processing and artisitc content. Surely these are prime examples of why film still lives.

nesster, you are right. I'm seriously regretting having sold my 6x7. But I'm not missing the time in the darkroom.

Jake, it's been a little while since I've shot film or in the dark this way but a little suggestion with a static subject. Get one of those large 4 D cell "policeman batton" flashlights that you can focus the beam. Use that to illuminate your subject (like the chair) as a focusing aid. I used to do that all the time and it worked great for me.

I gotta say I've come back to those shots a couple of times today and that Lighthouse shot is one of the best images B&W I've seen in a long time.

Yes, I could not agree more. It is getting to the point where I am intimidated to post up my own pictures. Time to step it up.

Jake, consider zone focusing as well for those times when you can't see what your shooting. though that would also depend on lens...Ah what do I know, I am just learning myself.

They are indeed. The frames are beautiful, but the build kit is pretty pedestrian, mostly shimano nexus and off-brand bits.

We'll see how they sell next to the Pashley's and Batavus'.
