Originally posted by Nesster Yes, Xenars are wonderful lenses - back a page I have some samples from a Xenar in a folding camera. I like TLRs though they are a bit boxy, compared to a nice folder. You get great tone and depth with the Rollei.
I love the old folders as well. Still looking for a good folder with a Tessar type lens and a rangefinder. Preferably a Zeiss Ikon because of their awesome build quality and robustness.
I do really enjoy shooting with this TLR, hadn't tried one before and it's great fun. You also get lots of smiles and comments from people when you take it out on the street.
That first Certo shot is awesome Nesster!
What I like most about the Xenar is not the sharpness, though that is very good when stopped down a bit. I think it really has an awesome tonal range, fantastic creamy bokeh and a wonderful almost 3d rendering if you find the right DOF for a particular scene.
Currently developing two more rolls shot today!
