Thanks Kevin, Steve & everyone.

I kinda had this thought that the entire world is in Facebook. ..
I do visit Pentaxforums whenever I get time & the “Pentax Film SLR Discussion” forums has been an inspiration for shooting Film.

I do have flickr acct (free one) but due to slow.. limited internet connection in my part of the city & my regular long official trip to different part of the country I lose track of my flick. Facebook is something I update regularly thats the reason all my snaps are posted there.

Will try to be regular with my post here.

Thanks for your reply. I'm convinced that I did not agitate properly or enough, and that caused the banding. I'll do it right next time!

The first one was from the first roll through my Yashica Lynx 5000 (the good copy). I am having a fun time getting used to the rangefinder focus and the general absence of close focus (min focus distance = 2.6 feet). The lens seems sharp enough, but after a full session in the field, I know that the viewfinder needs a good cleaning along with vertical adjustments to the rangefinder. Fortunately, the shutter is dead on for both fast and slow speeds with the exception of 1/1000s. The top speed was only about 1/750s when the camera was new, so no big deal.

That is a nicely-done bell sculpture, and your picture of it is very well done.

Swift1, here is a picture of the whole house at which I took that detail shot. This is the Phelps County Museum across the street from the Phelps County Courthouse in Rolla, MO.

Pentax K1000, Vivitar MC 28mm f2.8, Kodak Tri-X, ISO400, D-76, scanned with Epson V500.

Swift1 - My wife gave me the V500 for Christmas, and I am VERY happy with its performance!

I've taken quite a few photos from this angle by different lenses: Zenita 16/2.8 fisheye, Pentax DA14, DA12-24, M20, A16 fisheye, K17 fisheye, A15/3.5 and etc. Probably should put all of them together and see if there is any difference

Damn, so many good shots here again since I last posted. Glad to see you found a good copy of the Lynx, stevebrot. I was going to sell my Yashica Electro GSN, but I took it out for a spin and... I don't know if I will The lens is nice and bright (though vignettes something fierce wide open), the click of the shutter is just so gentle... Granted some shots didn't come out like I wanted because the viewfinder is at the top left corner. I can't fathom why that is. My Olympus XA is much easier to frame shots with because the viewfinder is right on top of the lens.

I found I could take shots with really slow shutter speeds and have them come out OK if not perfectly sharp. There's no obvious directional blur like with a horizontal or vertical shutter. I'm taking a lot of shots crooked up to three degrees. I wonder if the lines in the viewfinder are a bit off.

As you can see from the second to last shot, I had some trouble with developing the film... again. A few shots were blank and I think they were pressed against another part of the film during development. And another two shots have those crescents, the film was bent in those places. I had trouble with the reels.

I tried bumping the contrast in Lightroom, but it was not pleasant. Probably the better solution would be to adjust the exposure and contrast when scanning. If I get a chance this evening I will give it a try.

Steve, less a bump in contrast I find, more density I'd say - the whites are white but the overall tone bias is towards the bright.

I took the liberty of doing the following: dup layer, blend in <50% multiply, then add levels layer to bring background to where I wanted... an a bit of mask erasure for the main birch trunk.
