Having spent much of my life in the streets of Los Angeles, One sight that is common are shoes on a wire...If you do a google search your will find different meanings. Some will say they mark gang turf, others will say they are marking the spot for; ''drugs sold here''...Well growing up and spending much of my teen years in East L.A. and in South Central L.A. Slide shooters! How do you handle tricky lighting with your film cameras that don't have an AE Lock? Shutter speed changing or compensation? With slide not having great latitude like color negative, I tend to shoot it a lot slower.

I guess you could fiddle with the ISO selection to get the shutter speed you want.

That's where manual exposure is good. However, if I remember to use it, exposure comp works great, and often more is better than less. But these situations are where manual is still the best, and the camera makers have developed matrix metering schemes to attempt to automate the job.

Yes, full manual is the way to go. Meter of the highlights that still isn't crazy light like the sun etc. and you get something exposed right at least. That's the way I usually do it. Haven't used auto exposure since I got the camera and tested that it worked. With AE lock I think I'd use it more.

What's the story on the house falling down? Is it from a mud-slide or a remake of Lethal Weapon II?

Actually, my Son Daniel took the shot and the shot is that crooked. lol. I asked him to shoot the shoes and he paid no attention to the back ground. In the end, I liked the crooked house.

Looks great to me! I figured that the angle was part of the creative expression!

Well, when I lived in SoCal, I saw some houses end up like that. Look at the fence and bushes in the foreground as well as the fence in the background.
