Tuco, what format is that? You are about to poke out my retinas with those images. Digital has a long way to go.

I's my 4x5. I updated the pictures with camera info. Thanks everyone for the compliments. I didn't think too much of the lighthouse because I lifted the front standard to correct for convergence and it still looks crocked. But I was pleased with the tones.

I dunno, guys, I think my MF is just as sharp with my better scanner. Here is my shipwreck and Ruby Beach again for comparison. And a handheld shot of a plane prop.

Still, I got very inconsistent results from this batch of film. Many images came out junk....Another thing that he told me was that Ilford black and whites require ''total darkness'' to develop and so I was fumbling around. This was my second attempt. The first, I left in the soup far too long and the lights came out over exposed and very contrasty. Anyway, I need to get a 15watt green bulb according to Ilfords web site. I have not seen a green bulb since I was in JR High in the 70's

Thanks again!
Javier, I'm not sure what kind of advice you got there... with film, you need either a room/closet that's light-tight, or a changing bag. Open the canister, put the film on the reel, reel in tank, and lid on, in the dark. After that everything is in daylight. Your tank should be a daylight tank... if not, then what you were told starts to make some sense. But in that case I'd say: spend the few bucks to get a daylight tank!

Is there even such a thing as not a daylight film development tank -- apart from just a jar?

@Tuco: wow! my jaw just dropped on my floor the sunset lanscape, the church, the rocks in the water... those are fantastic shots! i'm sure the medium format helps a bit with the sharpness and gives a bit room for getting the right tones, but you must have perfect kowledge of the craft (that is... the craft behind the art).

Here are two of my favorites taken with my ME Super 9ish or so years ago, no where near as impressive as most, but I was new to the slr realm at that time. The scanner makes them look worse than they actually are.
