I told myself no more photos of irrigation valves, but I could not resist, with film and soup inspired by Agnostic and Tuco. LegacyPro100 (Acros) in R09 (Rodinal substitute) 1:80 at 18min semi-stand. The effect on the highlights is almost ethereal.

Good work Gene, Rodinal at high dilution and (semi) stand works as a compensating developer which you can clearly see in the highlights in your shots.

Rollei Retro 100 in Rodinal 1:100, Orange Filter, Fuji G690BL, Fujinon S 100/3.5

Good results, GeneV. And thanks, Frank. And I said not another seascape but here we go...

I've no problem with seascapes and beaches. I often wish I could be near them more often.

I'll definitely need to try the Rodinal stand dev with my medium format cameras to get the highlight effect without the grain having as strong an effect.

We don't have many of the kinds of scenes around here that PMK does best. The delicate sea mist in those shots is right in that zone, though.

PMK does the same thing as compensating developers but with its stain. It increases density in the highlight areas and you get fine highlight results. More so with an analog print I believe. It, and Rodinal, I like because they are one-shot and very long shelf life. No hassles with exhausted chemicals for me

Totally agree on the one-shot. I haven't used a replenisher since the 70s.

Wow, the delicate light on the train is preserved nicely. A real 3D feel to it. Sweet.

Thanks! Not everyone sees it but I always love that 3d feel you get when you hit the right light and DOF with a lens that has that 3D quality.

Gotta remember to comment when things are posted; you blink and there's a whole raft of excellent shots.

@Frank WOW. Pretty ladies is an understatement. Really amazing series. I don't know...I shoot a ZX-5n (from time to time) and I never manage to attract five beautiful women to come pose for me...must be the ZX thing - gotta get me an MZ.

@Gene - "Down the stairs to the morning coffee" - great shot. Does the perspective change after you've had the first cup?

Re "No more irrigation valves" - we've all got stuff we shoot waaay to much of. For me it's our local garden cemetery Cedar Hill. When you get results this good, share away and each photo has a unique and distinctive quality anyway, despite the shared subject.

@Agnostic - Bicycle on the brick road (ME Super M50 1.7). Love that camera and lens combo and this shot.

"Everybody was kung fu fighting" - simply inspired. Great title and a great photo.

"Trains" - thanks to you, my dad's Rollei is no longer safe <g>.

@Tuco - Backlit Bridge; thanks for posting this shot. Really a treat for the eyes.

Re "Not another Seascape" - see my comment to Gene; it's equally true for your seascapes.

@ISO50 - Downtown Portland on XP2 - nice series and I look forward to more of your film shots.

@DaddyLuna - I'm with Agnostic on the lady in the kitchen. That shot is dynamite. Still shooting Centuria DNP? Inquiring minds want to know...

Best to all,
Kevin
