:cool: Lets see those ''film'' shots

Finally some decent shots from the Yashica Lynx 1000. With any luck, I may actually get proficient with shooting the rangefinder again.

To be truthful, I enjoy shooting with the Lynx. No worrying about what lens to use...its always the same one! Fortunately, it is proving to be a pretty capable piece of glass.

Nice series Steve. I must say that I have been using one SLR with one Lens for the past two months and NOT worrying about what lens to use has made it so much more fun. As for my DSLR, I am almost there. Aside from this past weekend, I have been using 2 lenses 98% of the time and deciding between those two is a killer.

I use either a 24 or 28 and wish there was a 25 or 26 and I would be golden.

The Lynx has a Yashinon 45/1.8 and the challenge is two-fold: 1) Composing in the bright-frame and 2) Determining which part of the subject to focus on. DOF is a serious issue with some subjects, particularly at f/1.8.

This is awesome! Great contrast and capture. I bought a Yashica Electro 35 GSN last month but return it due to the shutter release button would not “pop up”, it got stuck inside the camera. I really want to try a rangefinder but hard to find an inexpensive one with good working condition and the repair could be costly.

Too bad I did not know this a couple of weeks ago. Mike Knight here in Vancouver had a Lynx 14 (f/1.4 lens!) in very nice condition that he sold for $49. I handled the camera and it was pretty solid except for flaky low shutter speeds. The buyer spent another $100 for a CLA including meter adjust and left with a fully functional 40 year-old camera.

Thanks for the compliment! Yes, my Lynx 1000 looks almost large enough for 120

. I have large hands, so the fit is good for me and at least it is not heavy like its big brother the Lynx 14. The f/1.4 lens on that camera doubles the weight.

Nesster, I remember reading the hoops you have to jump through to shoot the Kodak Duraflex II and thinking it's not worth the effort. This shot proves me wrong; the reflection of the building through the window in the table is just great. First-rate shot and well worth the aggravation factor of cutting down the film. Bravo!

Like the para-sail shot, too. Looks like Ultramax is all we're going to have left to shoot (although we could do worse <g>).

Thanks - these came out better than maybe I'd hoped, though too much a pain, I won't be doing this again with the Duaflex. On the other hand, I have to put 1 film through the Spartus Six-Twenty, just so I can say I've taken actual photographs with every one of my cameras.

$149 is a pretty good deal, especially with a f1.4 lens. Didn't know Mike Knight will repair Yashica. I will keep an eye out if another one comes up.

Jussi, Really nice colors from the Ultrmax 400. I bought a 3 rolls package cheap last week, can't wait to test it out this weekend.
