Pentax Auto 110

I really want one of these little guys! I can't find them anywhere for a reasonable price though. I looked on the buy and sell forums here and I couldn't find any for sale, so other than fleabay, where else can I look for them? I guess I could try craigslist but they have high prices as well.

I started out on a 110. These cameras are pretty good. The lenses are excellent, especially the 70mm. The limitation is the negative size which will limit enlargement. The lenses are also fixed at 2.8 which is good or bad. The major forte of these cameras was the size for a interchangeable slr camera.

Here's one on shopgoodwill.com:

shopgoodwill.com - #4569616 - Pentax Auto 110 Super SLR System: Camera, Flash+ - 3/18/2009 8:45:00 PM

It's the second one I've seen there in the last couple of months. Auction ends 3/18.

Thanks,
Dwayne

Other than the places mentioned, BlueMoon. The currently only have a body with an outfit listed. Whether price is good would depend on what lenses are with it. Without one of them being the 70mm or 20-40 zoom and flash and some other accy.

Auto 110

I bought mine on eBay, for about $30, including shipping. That included the 24mm "normal" lens. Later, I picked up the 50mm lens for about $10.

You just have to watch for a while. There are some sellers who try to sell them for $100 for a body with 24mm lens. If you watch for a while you can get some real bargains.

I've seen complete sets, with the body, three lenses, filters and metal case go for several hundred bucks, but I've also seen a lot of those sets go unsold, because of the high asking price.

If you buy one with a motor drive, be careful. Apparently there was a design flaw in the battery cover. Many, if not most, motor drives have broken battery covers. The drive will work, but you must tape the cover closed. Personally, I don't see the need for a motor drive, but that's just my opinion.

Auto 110

I have a Pentax 110 to sell. I can include a set of the 3 base lenses and possibly a flash.
I haven't tested it yet but it fires when cocked.

Make me reasonable offer in the private e-mail section.

True, the lenses are fixed at 2.8 but a variable aperture is built into the body, and according to the manual a minimum of 13.5 is possible.

I too am pretty interested in one of these fabulous camera's. I was wondering though, for the owners of a 110 auto, do you do the developing and printing yourself or get it done at a photo lab?

Developing 110 film

I haven't really used mine lately. The last time I did, I was able to send it out at a local store. It took a couple of weeks to get it done.

I've heard that Walmart, which, BTW, sells 110 film, can send it out as well. Many labs hold onto odd sizes like 110 until they get enough and then run them all through at once. You're not going to find one hour processing for 110 anywhere.

Also, 110 is available commercially only in C-41 color print film. B & W was discontinued long ago. There may be a few hardy souls out there, loading their own Tri-X in used cartridges, but I can't imagine doing that myself. There are quite a few people around who do their own C-41 processing.

Now you've got me thinking about it. I'll have to dust off the old Auto 110 and give it some excercise.

Thanks for your reply noblepa. I'll have to ask around at some local photo stores to see if they still handle 110 film. If so, I might think about buying one myself
