I got mine, too!

My new (to me) ZX-M came today! I've already loaded some film into it to test it--no telling how those shots will come out since I was attempting to shoot ISO 100 film as the sun was starting to go down. The size is just right--nice and small. Since I'm going to the beach this weekend, it'll most definitely be getting some more use. Attached is a pic of it with the FA43 mounted--isn't it cute?

Congrats Heather,

You know, I thought I'd miss seeing immediate results, I don't. I didn't even look at the back for the LCD preview. Playing in Av mode for now until I get used to everything. 4 shots as of this post, 20 to go... can't wait to try the 28mm in color, a trip to the mountains is in order.

I also want to get a wider (than 43) lens for the film body. While the husband and I are at Daytona Beach this weekend, I'm going to stop by a local mom & pop camera store there; I stopped by this same store last year and did a little shopping. They've got some used gear, plus I want to see if they've got the Kodak Ektar 100 film since I can't seem to find it around here.

In the meantime, I'm going to get myself more familiar with the instruction manual.

I just ordered a M28/3.5 lens for the film body from KEH. I did hit up the camera store at the beach and they didn't have much in the way of used Pentax gear--they said that they periodically get it in, but they didn't have much right now. If I actually lived in the area, I would stop by more often than once or twice a year to check on that. Unfortuately, they don't have any Ektar, either, and said that my best bet was to get it through B&H or Adorama. Overall, they're very nice people to deal with. If you're ever in the Daytona Beach, Florida area, I would encourage you to stop by Beach Camera (no relation to the one in NJ) and check them out.

In the meantime, the husband and I stopped off at a CVS (a drugstore chain, for those of you who aren't familiar with them) and picked up a 3-pack of Kodak High Definition 400 for $12.99. I've used this film before in previous film cameras (before going digital) with good results.

Williston is in north central Florida--northwest of Ocala and southwest of Gainesville.

I'm glad I picked up that extra film yesterday, as I've already gone through the 2 rolls that I brought with me.

But Heather, the time to hit Daytona for some "interesting" photos was a couple of weeks ago. The bikes are gone now.

I don't know about that--the college students are still here and I've seen some pretty interesting characters.

Oh yeah, it is spring break isn't it. Hard to tell who's more "interesting." Many thousands of hard core bikers or many thousands of heavily inebriated college students.

Have fun.

Inebriated college students. My friends and I spent our spring break down there in '87. We were in a community college from upstate NY at the time and when the people we met asked us where we were from, we said upstate, they said oh, you go to Syracuse University, we said why yes we do!!

I do remember the ZX-30, but somehow, film keeps on calling out to me. One thing I didn't like about it was it is wasn't manual enough. The ZX-M works better for me, now.

Now if I could just decide on which film scanner to get, then I'd be in great shape.
