Picture of the week?

It seems like we have a lot of people shooting fil at this point, and some of the film threads get really very long. I am thinking that perhaps we should have the film shots of the "week" thread established? Break it into more manageable bytes?

Perhaps do it in two week increments like they are currently doing the other picture of the week...

My vote: Javi should be the "owner" much as Peter Zack was the owner of the other picture of the week. Of course we could all take turns at doing the honors, but since there is no "contest" per se, this could be on a voluntary basis. Whatever works. I'd host this.

On the other hand, perhaps we should start a contest thread or two...

Anybody game?

@ Gooshin & k100d: today, I received my 2007 films back from the lab ....

@Woof: would you have such a kind of thread here, or in the mini games and challenges subforum? Whatever, I like the idea (and it will certainly increase the speed I get my films developed...).

I'm up for this as well. Not too many ideas to how to organize such a thing, I'll leave that to the pro's. But nonetheless I'll be shooting much more film the coming weeks/months/years/decades/eons since I kind of re-discoverd my love for it. For a minute there I was even considering selling my DL2 to expand my lens collection (which is farely unexisting, for the moment ), but that might have been one step too far. Or would it...

we could just work backwards, give a 1 month lead time.

So we could start, "picture of the month: February" and go from there.

Either that, or do it by when the film is processed and scanned. So regardless of when shot, if the film is scanned in April, it's April.

Good idea Nesster.

A simple, clean, bright line.

This sounds like a good idea, and it's a good idea to keep the rounds broad due to developing problems. Good idea to fuel some inspiration on my own part too.

Thanks Woof, I am honored to have been mentioned. But much like the other thread it should be ''our'' thread. I also think a POM is a good idea. Perhaps limit the amount of images to three total per member. We have a POW thread over at P.net and it is a huge success.

I'm budgeted to 4 rolls + developing only per month. Realistically, that's a lot of personal usage. So a PotW or PotM thread would be fine. Having 1 thread with everyone's photos in it is too much clutter, we need a dedicated 'Film Photos' section. Please ;-)

Shall we set a tentative date of May 1st to start the POM film thread?
