Talking B&W films not color because I usually shoot color as rated. With a film such as trix I have shot at 1600 in low light where I needed to get a shot. But then I compensated with development. Thing is you have to shoot the full roll at that speed. You don't want to change 6 times on one roll. That's pushing the film pulling is the opposite. If you push and don't compensate in development then it is under exposed.
