The Acidental Purchase

A few days ago I posted on the Latest Acquisition thread that I had accidentally acquired a nice KM with correct body cap, recently CLA'ed by Eric - meaning I must have bid on it but I still don't remember doing so - for $48.

This is what was in the box. I checked the Listing - camera was capped with a K-mount body cap. Checking deeper in the box, the printed eBay Invoice had, "With compliments. Have fun!" written across the Total.

You must be living right is all I have to say. The S-M-C 50/1.4 with hood and caps is worth $48 in its own right. Enjoy your KM!

Steve

P.S. It just occurred to me that a genuine adapter might have also been part of the mix...dang...

Thanks Steve. Never have had one. This one is certainly worth the $48.

I don't know - there's something else going on here. It just doesn't figure.

Well let's just say, what ever's going on, after all these years it was just my turn (but I'm listening for that other shoe).

[EDIT:] Late this afternoon I turned over the battery (nice seller, or it hasn't been used since the CLA), loaded some Tri-X and went for a walk. Is there some kind of magic in a KM focusing screen that differs from a KX? This one is bright and clear and there is "snap" to the focus that I've only seen on a few lenses before this. I can even use my right eye without glasses, both eyes open (but I shouldn't walk that way). Between the K-01 LCD and this . . . !

Man, this is going to be fun!!

Here's my Spotmatic F out in the wild from a couple years ago. I had Eric go through it after I bought it and it works like a dream and the 55mm/ f1.8 performs oh so nice on it.

"Nothing special"?....The "SE" would be relatively rare would it not?....and the lens & camera look to be in good shape, so I say it's gotta be a "bit" special, at the very least?!.
Regards, Pickles.
The camera is fairly clean; I guess I'll see if the light seal is still good when I get done with the current roll of film. It was the last time I used it, but that was several years ago and it's been in a box since then. The lens is in really good shape. Got that one from KEH (EX+), I love their grading system.

Super-jealous of your KM deal, Monochrome. You rocked that one! We should all be so lucky!

Even my $150 Pentax 645 wasn't as swingin' a deal as that!
