Nice score... K1000 is still on my 'want list'...

You'll be loading film in less than 10 seconds in no time!

Did your friend check the seals?

Thanks!
Yeah he said that they're fine to go ahead and run film through but he did give me the phone number of a guy who does old school camera repair/cleaning in case they degrade or become an issue. So other than getting out and practicing I think I'm set up

Received Spotmatic F - new seals needed plus mirror bumper. May get some new camera leather as well but just for the look - original 'leather' is in good condition.

I'm now in possession of 6 working Pentax film cameras (unfortunately the K1000 is as yet not one of them...) and 4 broken/un-working ones (I keep for part for the others in case anything goes wrong)...

It's a slippery slope... It's bloody great... But it's slippery...

On the plus, the guy who re-covered my now orange-ME, purple-MG and brown-MX has said he'll do my Spottie at no cost as I've sent a bit of work his way...

I've been shooting Pentax for years and only just got round to buying a K1000 (basically to save my MXs which really need seals/service). I bought a beaten up one to chuck in the back of the car but ended up buying a better one as well. While the MX feels delicate and precise, the K1000 just feels like a tank. Then again I've gone for a few M42 bodies recently.

Got bored so took a better picture of the MX

Couldn't sleep so thought I'd take a better picture of the MX re-covered in brown with M50-1.4

To count MX's in your sleep you'll need a flock of them . . .

Pentax SL

I've lurked for a bit here... finally posting something. This is my Pentax SL. I bought it thinking it was a Spotmatic. I didn't even know such a thing existed at the time. It is a great camera. The winder is just as smooth as my LX.
