Yeah, the K50/1.2 looks bigger than the MX!

Nice.

Phil.
Thanks,It does kind of defeat the whole compactness thing of the MX.

I think I posted these elsewhere a while back, but they belong in this thread. My KX, SP1000 and ME Super with standard lenses.

Digging out the film camera

Well, today I dug out my old film camera (PZ-1) - Haven't shot it in years (shoot a K-5 for the past couple years and a K20D and K10D before that). I had forgotten on what a good camera this was. Especially when I am able to be good glass on it.

I will develop the film tomorrow, but had to laugh at myself so many times when I went to the back of the camera to check the shot. But I wasn't the only one, my grandsons (4 1/2) could not understand why I wasn't showing them the picture of themselves after I took a shot. They were wondering if it was "broken".

Reminds me of when my wife's niece asked what the big thin books were on the bottom shelf. You know, the ones that are 12 inches square and only a fraction thick... usually with quite good artwork on the front...

Modern technology, my SonyEriksson phone, takes old(er) technology, ME, MZ-3, and MZ-10.

A modest collection, with the interest to add more.
Almost finished a roll of Kodak Gold 100 in the ME.

Warming to the KX is taking me some time. I thought I'd like it more than the MX due to the extra size, but i don't like the focusing screen too much, though I'm getting used to it.

It's free, this is at a local camera shop I was kidding about it being mine, they have another 10 or 15 cabinets like this - one for each of the different camera manufacturers.

That gigantic Pentax Spottie on the top right - I didn't know Pentax made an ultra large format camera

BTW, I clicked on the photo to get a possibly larger view but it gave an error that this photo is private?

The KX did come with a choice of the "cross-microprism" or the “split-image" focusing screen. The “split-image” is a lot harder to find.

Size wise I like the bigger K Series bodies better than the smaller “M”. I guess it’s what you’re used to, I started with a KX in the mid 70’s so that’s what feels normal to me. However after getting a Pentax 67 I’m starting to find the K Series bodies small!

Phil.
