The ME Super is not M42 camera. Is a K mount.
But of course ME Super with the M42 adapter will allow it to act like one . . .

There's a little bit of slack between the body and PK-M42 adapter. And it takes forever to put the adapter on-using M42 lenses with a K body is no picnic.
That is why I put the adapter on the lens and then mount the lens to the body. I am surprised that you have slack. The Vivitars generally have a wide flange and snug down pretty nicely. Beautiful lens, btw!

Yes I know, I have one; that was why my grinning smiley ("") and reference to the M42-K adapter!

Here's my Pentax ME that I inherited from my dad... I took the old 50mm 1.4 that it came with and stuck it on my K20D and stuck my Sigma 24mm 1.8 on the ME. Despite the 30 year age gap between lens and bodies, both setups worked perfectly!

I too shoot my newer lenses on my vintage k-mount bodies. Works great as long as they have an aperture ring and adequate image circle!

Decided to have a little fun tonight.

I posted a photo of this camera back when I first got it in 2009 but since I acquired my 43ltd, I've wanted to get a good shot of the 2 together. I think they look great together and they make a superb little combo.

Thanks Steve.

The slack is between the body and adapter. Maybe I should look for another adapter.

My 70-210A came in today, so I thought I'd post more of the ME Super.

And the prices are not much lower here in the U.S. In my city, a silver MX in reasonable condition with M 50/1.7 in a shop will be about $210 USD with the black ones being about $50 more.
