Browsed trough the whole thread of your nice gear and found the KM a bit underrepresented: I actually have 2 of them...

Yesterday I bought:
SuperA
Motor Drive A/Battery Pack A
A35-105/3.5
A70-210/4
AF280T

Some signs of wear here and there, but worth the price I paid (not a real bargain, but I really wanted the 35-105 anyway).

I have got a few things that way from out of town from GoodWill. Locally I have seen an AE-1 and a couple of lenses and an Olympus is all. They now have there own version of Fleabay as well.

Nice body Frank. That strap is icing on the cake!
I'm lusting after a Super Program in good shape. I really want a camera with a pentaprism, split image screen and fully designed for manual focus on which I can also use in a pinch with my DA Ltd primes.

Gene, the SuperProgram will fit the bill. Since I got mine, I've been shooting it more than my ME Super. That being said, I still prefer the ME Super. Things are finally slowing down at the Cathedral and school is finally out, so I'll get a chance to do some more shooting. Next outing, I take the ME Super.

Best,
Kevin

Thanks Paul, the black KM turned out to be rather hard to find. It was also CLAed by the camera store I bought it from and it works perfectly. The K1000SE is off to see Eric!

Black KM bodies are uncommon, but rare? I'm not sure. I have owned several.
Like other pristine black bodies I owned I never used them for fear of marring them.
I sold those and currently have a nice chrome KM body. It works just as well!

As Chris mentioned a black KM is uncommon, but not rare. Reason it cost $25.00 more for a black (KM, KX, K2) body than the chrome version. If you were willing to spend close to $500 for a chrome K2 then an extra $25 for a black body is not that bad. However a chrome KM cost $265.00, spending another $25 on just the camera colour was probably not the top priority for most people buying that model. They would most likely rather spend the $25 towards a lens or camera case.

When the K1000 came out a year later in 1976, there was never a back version. The K1000 was a “budget” camera and $25 was a lot of money back then for most people, it was more than a day’s salary for me!

Hence black K2’s are fairly common, but a black KM not so much.

Phil.
