Shot with a K-7, DA* 16-50mm at 16mm.
I hope I could setup something like this too. But w/ two little kids around, I can't just do whatever I want

It was just point-n-shoot with the camera. No skill needed with these automagic things. These setups are fun to do. And what is really weird when you shoot close up like those ME Super shots is all the dust on things gets captured too! I blew things off with compressed air but still I spent more time cleaning up the specs in the image than I would with with one of my BW scans in a glass carrier.

Tuco, beautiful shot and beautiful setup...way nicer than the lightstand, speedlight, and umbrella I used for this one...

Pentax SuperProgram shot w/ K10D, FA50 f1.4, Metz 58, and an umbrella <g>

I know what you mean about the dust...I thought I kept my gear pretty clean, but...

Best,
Kevin

You really don't do anything half-way!!

Although I was sure you were going to say you did that with a 'blad.

52mm Asahi Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 1:1.4/50

58mm Asahi Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 1:2.5/135

67mm Soligor Auto-Zoom 1:4.5 f=75mm - 260mm

I have to be honest, I have no idea what the ratio numbers mean, but that's the info printed on the front ring of the lenses. The telephoto lens also has a built on lens hood that extends off the end.

Translation:

S-M-C Takumar 50mm (focal length) f/1.4 (maximum aperture) lens with 52mm filter size
S-M-C Takumar 135mm f/2.5 lens with 58mm filter size
Soligor 75mm-260mm f/4.5 zoom with 67mm filter size

The S-M-C Takumars are both very nice lenses. The Soligor is a consumer zoom with a nice range, but fairly small maximum aperture. I would say that you are one very fortunate person to have this nice kit.

Wow. Thanks for the info and the compliment. So I suppose a K mount / M42 adapter wouldn't be too bad of an investment, huh?

All versions of the 50mm/1.4 Takumar lenses have 49mm filter threads.

You are right! I should have noticed the inconsistency. Soooo...the plot thickens...

The lenses don't have the filter threads marked on them so its easy to make a mistake. Its like the confusion over the filter threads for the first model of the S.T. 35/2. Some sources including AOHC say its 70mm but it is listed as 67 elsewhere and I think 67 is correct. AOHC also states the Auto Tak 35/2.3 has 65mm filter threads and they are definitely 62mm. I guess AOHC is listing the outer diameter on those 2 since they have shades that slip on.

Perhaps 52mm is the marking on the shade?
