Bumper looks ok, inside looks nice and clean...not sure about the seals, the body has a few flaws, but nothing major, and the film advance lever spring is either broken, or came loose, so the lever has to be pushed back manually, but I don't care about that. I'll probably run a roll through it this weekend, and see how she works....

If the seals are there and not gummy, they are good. If they are bad, Jon Goodman is the man to contact (interslice on eBay). His $9 kits are first-rate as is Jon himself.
Pre-Cut Interslice Seal Kit Pentax K1000, Spotmatic,+ - eBay (item 110579817677 end time Sep-28-10 18:00:40 PDT)

Thanks Steve, I bought a set from him for my pops *cough* Canon AE-1 *cough* and they were pretty easy to install, but that mirror bumper is pretty tricky, it's a little crooked, but does what it is supposed to do, lol

I've visited 7 goodwill stores over the last 2 weeks and only one had a 35mm slr, it was a chinon with a 50mm f/1.x lens. I had my eyes set on bigger better things so I just let it go.

Wish i had the luck everyone else seems to have....lol

Well, my father finds these, he's retired, and he hits Goodwill almost every day, haha. He has WAY too many cameras he has found at Goodwill, but I have told him if he finds a Spottie cheap, buy it !! If it's ok, I'll keep it, if not they have a 1 week return window.... I am getting crazy with these things, I am thinking about trying to get every model of Spotmatic....2 down, lots to go !!!

I was going to say, how many M42 film SLRs cameras do you have now?
I got my 5th manual focus SLR recently (a black KX) and I'm actually thinking I will sell it... Not until I have done the seals, cleaned it up and worked out whether I like it or not though

I have a backlog of photos to take and show in this thread too.

Here's something I did NOT need, but have been thinking about for a long time: an Auto 110. It only has the 24mm lens, but it does seem to work. $9! Now I'll spend twice that or more trying to find some 110 film and get it developed.
