I was in Cornwall last weekend and took some camera gear with me (what a surprise). Here are a couple of my MX and LX in action.

LX with SMC-K 15mm

Another shot of the LX.

MX with SMC K 200mm lens.

Best wishes, Kris.

Okay, I set some time aside to take a few pictures yesterday for you, as promised. I think I'll also be listing the S3 (my only m42) for sale today in the marketplace pictured in the center of all the other cameras. Anyway here they are, clickable for 1,000 pixels wide, taken with K10D and DA 16-45:

The Pentax ME-F fitted with a ME II winder and a AF35-70mm lens. The lens was a dedicated AF lens for this camera, and the first one made by Pentax. It was not a successful design, however, and it was some years before Pentax introduced their F series lenses. This example is sadly a display item only: the focusing is jammed solid. The camera, however, is in lovely working condition and has recently been serviced by Harrow Technical.

The picture was taken with a K20D and a K 50mm f/1.2 lens.

Cheers, Kris.

lovely MEF mate. too bad about the lens though! I have a fully working example and they are quite fun to use.

I've rather given up looking now.

Completely OT but I went to an excellent Ansel Adams exhibition in Savannah a couple of years back. I'm also very fond of the coffee shop and the Beneventure (?sp) cemetery.

Its not the worst thing in the world to have an ME F without the AF 35-70, especially if the focus confirm works with the k and M lenses. They are really nice bodies.

The focus confirm works fine although I prefer to use my eyes. My first SLR was an ME Super and this camera is identical in many respects. Sadly my original ME Super is dead but I have three others...

Not a Pentax, but I found this guys sitting sadly in a corner at a local thrift store. The original Ever-ready case looked like hell, but I opened it up and there this guy was, looking nice and clean. So I paid $15 for it and brought it home. Seals are all gummy but everything else looks excellent. All shutter speeds seem to work.

That K2DMD looks stunning with the FA43!

Here is my little MX, wearing the M50 f/1.4 and dressed in Cardinal Red kid skin:

Thanks. I think they make a great pair too. I also mentioned in your restoration thread how good the finished MX looks. Thanks for sharing.

Poor soul, you: it *used* to be you couldn't give those things away despite the wonderful lens, until someone decided it was no longer 'A Really Badly-automated Compact' and instead 'The real artist's Poor Man's Leica: $200!

I should have kept a good one for myself. Guess I never thought the supply would run out. Those are actually really nice cameras, though, in all earnestness. I spent half my life, it seems, fixing em up, and now I couldn't buy one for love or money, and the one I have just has heinous front coating damage.

Seriously, though, ...Hang on to that. They are teh good. Mind your shadows, and you get monochrome like farm-fresh butter.
