Saludos a Galicia,

Hermosas lentes la de la Pentax K. Ja tengo varias tambien y por lo tento que me gusta mas usar Medium Format, no me puedo resolver a separar me de ellas.
Con lo bonito que es Galicia como me han contado, uds puede disfrutar las.

A Pentax K35/2 that is a lens that I do not have and it does look good with the 28/2, isn't it?
If I had to keep two 135mm camera my choice would be:
1) LX for SLR
2) Canon P for RF
Both cameras have something that just make them natural to use.

Cheers,

Luc

Thank you Luc. Glad to know someone who says my country is beautiful . Thats also my feeling.

Concerning your question about K 35 f/2, I think its a very good but a little bit underrated lens . Why ? Because on of the most famous lenses of Pentax , and probably the best Pentax 35 , is K 35 f/3,5 , considered as more sharp than K 35 f/2.

Other reasons in my oppinion for such underrating, are that K 35 f/2 is/was always compared not only with K 35 f/3,5 , but also with the other very famous K wide "beasts" , as for instance : K 28 f/3,5 and K 28 f/2 and K 30 f/2,8. Hard competition

Anyhow I am very happy with such combo of K lenses.

Cheers

Juan

Yes I have the K28/2, K30/2.8 and K35/3.5 (just acquired).
The K28/2 is a real pleasure to use but the one I take all the time when I take only one lens with the LX is the 30/2.8.

Cheers,

Luc

It occurred to me that I don't think I have ever posted a photo of my KX. So...this evening I did a quick photo session using low key lighting.

Low Key KX

K10D, Sigma 50/2.8 EX DG Macro

And an older one from the archives.

Twin sons of different mothers

K10D, Pentax-M 50/1.7

My Pentax KX and Ricoh XR-2s have almost identical dimensions and control placement. The Ricoh is lighter and more sophisticated feature-wise, but the two handle remarkably the same. The viewfinder layout is also almost identical on both cameras.

Internally, they are very different with the Ricoh having an electro-mechanical vertical metal shutter (Copal) and the KX having a traditional horizontal fabric unit. The Ricoh has Av exposure automation + full manual while the KX has metered manual. The KX shines in the meter sensitivity department (up to ISO 6400) due to its advanced SPD sensor while the Ricoh makes do with a conventional CdS cell with the limit at 3200.

Mounted to the Ricoh is a Vivitar 200/3.5 in adapted M42 mount. The KX is sporting a Pentax-M 200/4. Interestingly, the Vivitar lines up such that the aperture scale reads properly through the "Judas window" in the viewfinder. Cool, eh?

Fearview, that's a nice collection of glass to go with your K2 (and with a digital body too, I'm guessing based on the presence of a DFA lens). Do you use the FA43 much with film?

I wonder if it's a question of what materials he's got handy to cut. This one came just a few days after it was ordered. I've ordered other skins from cameraleather, and yeah some of them took quite a bit longer than this.

Sweet - do you have a favorite shooter among the three?

If I had to choose one of the three it would be the LX. It has a superbly accurate meter and the interchangeable viewfinders are very useful. Having said that, I love my MX for being small, simple and quiet, and the KX for being rugged... I have quite a collection of Pentax film bodies now ranging from a H2 to a Z20...

Best wishes, K.

KX + K55/1.8, one of the best bang for your buck combos that Pentax ever made!

MZ-5n-6-7

These are my recent collection of auto-focus cameras. I installed new mirror motors in 5N and 7. MZ-6 was the latest "Made in Japan" version and had mirror motor with brass gear installed in the factory. It's a great experience being able to open these cameras and see thousands of parts assembled together at watch precision. Now I can shoot film photos without worrying about mirror getting stuck.

Since MZ-6 and 7 are essentially the same cameras; I will keep 5N and 6 and would pass on #7. This one has a QD back.
