Some new (to me) old Gear - AF080C Ring Flash

Picked up an old Pentax AF080C ring flash on EBAY last week. Always wanted one of these for my old MX. Here they are united at last on the Auto Bellows M.

Looking forward to see how it works.

Nice setup Tom!

I had posted this in the acquisitions thread....but it seems fitting here. Apparently "New never used", which it looks that way when I opened it up. There was an unopened package of batteries that had an (expiry?) date of 1982 (yes, they had started to leak but not outside the packaging)....

Nice pickups Tom & Steve! (You have to wonder where the MEF has been kept for the last 30 years!)

Thanks Paul, newpentaxman, SMC, Phil,

I’ve been meaning to try my hand at macro in a more serious way and I think the ring light will help.

No PTL/TTL on digital of course but for guys in this thread that’s not an issue right? In any case it should be fun.

SMC do you have some sort of time machine? I’ve bought stuff new that didn’t look that good.

Tom G

There was one ME F listed on the local kijiji 2 months ago, I didn't know if some one picked it up. Since I already have MZ-5N and 6, I didn't bother.

Thanks guys......I couldn't pass it up. I had a string of luck and have another 2 (different) cameras coming that look to be in the same shape (apparently like new in box). I'll see when they arrive and will post in a few weeks

Looks like a Ritz camera tag on it, I'd be willing to bet it may have been new-old stock a while, till the recent closeout thing.

(And a Super A high-five to Alan. They're a bit rarer in the US, cause they were sold in chrome Super Program trim here. )
