WeinCells are overpriced and unnecessary. I just use 1.4 V 675 zinc-air batteries designed for hearing aids, which are basically the same thing as the WeinCells but in a slightly smaller form factor.

The Spotmatic SP is not supposed to be picky about batteries though. It should work fine with alkalines.
I agree and this is what I have been using as well.

Do you need any adapters to use the 675 zinc-air battery in a spotmatic camera? I put a couple of different alkaline batteries in my SP, none of them worked Wonder if it's the battery, or the meter is already dead

If you're sure the batteries aren't flat, the meter is dead. Sorry. Even on bodies that do not work well with alkalines, the meter will at least move and meter with any battery, even if not accurately. You probably do not need an adapter. It's a little bit smaller than the usual battery but if you can't make it fit, you can wrap some paper or some sort of rubber ring around it to pad it out.

I guess batteries of the right type aren't the issue, as long as they fit. (Are you sure you're putting them in right-side up? It seems from what people say that this often proves confusing.)

In happier news, I've just received a fairly well-used Super A I've yet to really check out, (could not resist at the price: I think this may be the one I send off to Erik for some good tuning:my suspicion is that this has been handled more than cycled. ) These really do look great in black, too.

Hey guys, thanks for your tips and suggestions. It seems to be working now The lens was set to M, and I didn't know I need to push the SW button towards to the upper position to meter Now I set the lens to A, the needle is moving now Yeah, bad habit I know, I should've read the manual first, but kinda lazy after using so many Pentax cameras, thought I could figure out everything w/o looking at a manual

I'm gonna run through a roll of film w/ this camera and the Super Takumar 50/1.4 lens that came w/ it

Cheers!

Thinking about selling the ME Super and 50/1.7 Free up some money and space. Too many 35mm cameras means not enough time to give each love

Two is too many? I say *nay,* ...with film you want at least two so you don't have to unload and reload every time you want to use a different film. For what an ME Super sells for, you may as well keep.

Frank, I had the very same problem with my 1964 Spoty and nesster came to my rescue, so I know the frustration.

Man, I just bought another one. Pentax ME Super Film Camera - eBay (item 390034041668 end time May-08-09 20:19:55 PDT) I would have much rather bought it from someone I know. Right now I am pondering an MX.

Dodgy pic below. I purchased them in two parts, then recently added the 40.

SuperProgram
A 50mm 1.7
AF200T

ME w/ winder (winder not pictured)
K 30 2.8
M 40 2.8
M 50 1.7
M 100 2.8

Nice kit! That reminds me - anyone know where I can buy just the front grip for a Super Program? Those empty holes are buggin' me - thanks.

Nice kit. I bought an M28/2.8 from a forum friend, but the aperture blades got some oil on them Tried to open up the lens and clean, but the ring at the front just refuse to come off Ended up I bought another one, along w/ a nice ME Super Kit
