Here's the latest Pentax I've been trying out - a very early SV made before they were exported. It came with an S3 manual and supplemental that explained an English manual wasn't ready yet, as it wasn't for the export market. The baseplate is engraved "NO TAX" - likely indicating it was made for either a duty-free shop or PX sales. The shutter was jammed with a film fragment, lens diaphragm sticky and focus hard, speeds off, etc. Now it is nice.
Here are a few shots from my first test roll of film. These are taken of its "brother" - a slighly newer SV, but still marked with the NO TAX engraving. It has a bad shutter curtain (stiff - likely from being left on display without a lens in the sunlight), and I'll likely use it for parts. It made a good model for trying the 55 f1.8 with the auto extension tubes. Of course, macro work is where a TTL Spotmatic is nicer, as these required 2 stops additional exposure compared to the external meter.
