Here are the two cameras I've played with forever, photographed by their big ol' Uncle SL who's just moved in for his dotage. His cyclops-eye is old with cataracts and he can only see things from 1 or 1.5 metres away. Even so, he lent them his lens cap and if you look from a little further out you can see the ol' pentax smiley.

Oh,

I returned to Pentax via the K-x (still very much OK - now usually used together with my 400 Takumar), and then the K-7 (a darling in good light), and the K-5 (simply amazing!), but wanted a FF camera, so the choice I settled for was a well used SFX, which can handle most modern lenses (not those with OIS, like my Sigma 120-400). As yet I've only tested a few of my lenses, and naturally all FAs works brilliantly, and the DA18-55 is OK, if you don't go to the widest settings, which also is true for the 10-24 Tamron. The DA21 is pretty bad (much like the kit lens at its wide end), while the DA40 is OK. With none of my longer lenses, like my Tamron 70-200/2.8, or the wife's DA50-135, I've had any issues ay all.

Have a few other lenses I have not tested, but on the average, all work well down to 20mm, if available (except the DA21).

Eventually found a supplier in France of rechangable 2CR5 (aka DL245) batteries, so that's what I use!

I've found the DA21 far from perfect on film, but not as bad as I expected. Those corners are can be cropped or corrected to some extent in Photoshop. Still, with the excellent M20in the stable, I am not as tempted by the DA21 as I might otherwise be.

Please edit and re-type the long useless list. You mess up the thread.
I think maybe this is some sort of forum bug?

I just purchased off of Ebay a Vivitar series 1 19-35 lens thats brand new.I just got my income tax back and I told myself that I wasn't going to spend it on frivolous things. Alright..would you say that this was a frivolous purchase or that I really needed this lens....anyone?

The long useless string was unintentional. I think it was some sort of bug either with the forum or firefox4 beta. I did see it on screen with ff4b so I switched and posted with Iron. If it was still there it is more likely although not necessarily a forum bug.
Right now I do not see it on this page so I cannot edit it out.

Tried to reply to the mod directly but security restrictions prevent that.

Edit: it just reappeared. Looks like it is a ff4b issue only. I'll submit a bug to them.

I suggest you make a new thread. A tip is to take off the lens and check if the aperture feeler lever (right side when looking at the mirror) is stuck. It may need a CLA or some light cleaning.

You have three LX's and you can't even give me a bloody cigar?

Good thing I don't smoke anyhow.

These three were all bought since October, can't afford any cigars. Especially since a K-5 landed today. :-)

I'll would post a photo of my rough old Black MX and soon-to-be-delivered (hopefully in working order) silver ME Super bought for its unremarkable but hopefully flexible 28-80 non-SMC lens were both these items not woefully outclassed by a lot of the hardware shown in this thread!

Being busy at work and at home means precious little time for getting away from the house, enjoying a walk and catching whatever tickles my fancy on film - still only on roll No.3 of 36 exp. film since getting the MX at Christmas - shame as we've had some cracking bright/misty mornings of late.

Oh that is something I'd like to see on my table... They look somewhat beat up though, any sticky mirrors? Reminds me I should have mine serviced, but then it's be good for another 30 years
