After seeing Phil's 67, I got inspired to do a portrait of my 67.
I got this as a broken parts body that came along with a 67II, 3 lenses (2 in need of repair), an ext. tube set, helicoid ext. tube, and 67mm reverse adapter, all for $400.
I sold the 67II body for $550, 1 lens (165/4 LS) for $250, and the helicoid tube for $150. Then spent $250 repairing the 67 and other 2 lenses (45/4, and 90/2.8 LS)
In the end, I paid back the $400, and ended up with $300 and a working 67 and 2 lenses. It's a little beatup looking but it has worked great for 2 years and over 30 rolls of film. I have since added a folding waist level finder and a SMC Pentax 67 200/4 to my kit.
Awesome looking 67 there

Nice shots of those two, and amazing long exposures on your flickr page by the way!

Yes very nice, I really like the black camera against the white background. Did you get Eric to work on the 67 and lenses?

Phil.

Looking at those MZ-S pictures just makes me want it even more....it that vertical grip looks so comfortable on your fingers. Definitely a very attractive camera.

So I just got a flash today...so I have been messing around with it....

the different white balance of the two lights makes an interesting effect. (the orange is my desk lamp)

Pretty cool accident with the flash. It turned into a really cool B&W photo.
the color version looks cool, too.

My photo gear quest will not be complete until I have a Pentax 67 (mlu) and a decent selection of lenses. I love those things!

That's one of my wishlist items too, though I think I'll be happier with an RZ-67 or a Hasselblad, to be completely forthcoming.

Size does matter!
Meet Big Bertha, a prized eBay find, ex-Lancaster USA.
She's without an eye at the moment (55mm f4). Presenting tipping the scales at 1.6kg; heading for 2.5kg when the lens docks... and that will be quite enough. :ugh:

Mirror has quite an alarming tha-ANK, and 3x the size of my EOS1n mirror. This 67 has MLU and ME ability -- that unusual factory mod. that I posed a question of much earlier. This morning I'm going to get a new battery (not sure how long the present Varta has been in it) and B-type strap. Unresolved is the issue of an eyecup: I suspect the older Nikon eyecups may fit on round bezel Pentax eyepieces, but not sure. First roll of Acros 100 loaded for test imaging, then we'll get down and boogie with Provia.

Wow, Silent Street, that 67 looks to be in outstanding condition! The controls look pristine from the photo, and the body is likewise in excellent shape. Nice find. Enjoy!

Pentaximus, my understanding of the 67's history is that it was part of an estate in San Diego somewhere. It appears to have had very little use since new (1989?) with absolutely no marks on the body anywhere; advertised as 'minty' for USD$530, but I offered $510 and got it. It was dusty and very finger-printed when it turned up: nothing Kitten polish can't buff up, and then some! I really cannot wait much longer to get it out of the studio and into the bush for its first test roll.

Beautiful! The *ist is a great camera for that sort of setup! Do all 3 of those lenses work on full frame? I think they make even more sense on a film SLR at those focal lengths than a digital.

thank you.

the 40 work just fine with film, i still need some confirmation about 21 since i still havent my roll being processed. but if i do some dof preview with the *ist i can only see slight light fall off with wide open. and at F22 there a cropable vignet i see from viewfinder.

and the 77 we all now is for film right?.

indeed *ist is a gem.

Phew! Just spent the past week reading through this whole thread. Truly inspirational! Urged me to look at eBay and local ads far too often. I currently have a Super Program and an ME, both bargain finds. Will get photos up eventually...
