Unfortunately I will not be able to exercise the setup for another week so I look forward to exercising it.

Nice bunch of kit! Your phone-cam snap made me exercise my Cyrillic-reading skills. Goncharov! Tolstoy! Karamazin! Gogol! I learned to read Cyrillic 20 years ago from an old girlfriend, although I don't speak Russian (or anything else written in this alphabet) so have no idea what I'm saying when I read it. Little did I know back then that it would prove useful to me for reading words like "Jupiter" or "Industar" etc. What a lucky happenstance.

My screw mounts:

I'm on the prowl for a 24mm and an 85mm but they tend to be pricey.

Here's my MX, with a SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/1.4. I also have a SMC Pentax-M 28mm f/2.8 and a MC Haminex Automatic 80-200mm f/4.5.
The aperture blades of the 50mm have gotten sticky .

Beautiful MX!

Sounds like it's time to send the lens to Eric.

Latest additions - Original!

I finally filled a missing link in my Asahi collection with this AP or "Original Pentax." I ended up with a second body when one was described as a "Pentax S" - but wasn't.
This model has no mechanism to stop down the lens automatically, so uses preset lenses like the Asahiflex - but in M42 mount. (Auto lenses can be used in manual mode.)
Both have very nice cosmetics, but the second curtain on one has stiffened. Although many have said that can't be repaired now, Eric says he can still replace them, so it will be off to him this week.
The other one operates perfectly - shutter speeds good and very even exposure edge to edge. A big difference shooting one of these compared to an Asahiflex with waist-level finder. I find for normal shooting the Asahiflex is best used as "scale-focus" with it's second eye-level viewfinder.
Without the diaphragm stop-down stuff these are simpler mechanically and also quieter.

The 50mm f1.2 monster light gathering ability meets the MX's gloriously large VF! Helps greatly on razor thin DOF.

So I used it for a portrait shot of the original . . .

I didn't realize I have so many 50mm lenses in k mount already - not counting the M42's!

I'm looking at a potential P30N acquisition for next weekend. Any feedback on it apart from what's in the reviews database? It seems to be reliable, if a little basic & ugly.

The standard MX focusing screen is not very precise with these fast lenses. If you can find one, try an SA3 screen, which was made for the 1.2 lens, or an SE plain groundglass. I found both better than the standard screen.
You could also use the equivalent screens for the LX: the SA23 or SE20.
