Then a rummage through Henry's discount bin and I found a reasonably clean ME Super in black - foam looks good, everything behaving after a couple of batteries were loaded.
Great looking Black ME Super Matt!

LX Case

Hi,
I eventually finished the case for my LX bits using an old Pentax case.

Nice. All that gear and it doesn't even include a lens!

Here's a shot of my MX and one of my MEs.
Photographed with my 67 on Fuji Acros, developed in Diafine.

Another Frankencamera. I'm pretty sure I am not the first to do this with an ME Super - but I can't recall who did it first. I might have seen a picture of one here on the forums. If somebody else remembers, please give me a nudge.

Very cool Sluggo! I wouldn't mind doing that to one of my ME Supers, and keeping the winder on the other one for longer lenses. A little extra grip couldn't hurt on the flat front of the body.

Nice contrast there, Swift1. Although, I have to say, I'm partial to the chrome finish!

Picture here doesn't show it, but the film door also has a Super Program grip contour. That part was easy because it only needed swapping the door with the donor body -- it's a perfect fit. And yes, together they make a huge difference. It's a lot more comfortable and secure in my hand than another ME Super that I'd put Griptac leatherette on for the same purpose.

I also more partial to the chrome finish. It definitely holds up better over time than the black. Though the worn black MX has a certain charm that almost seems like it has more experience.

Diafine! Ah, I could kiss you. I've had some waiting, out of sight, out of mind, since the move, and just this week been finishing rolls that I've been like, "Now, why did I have this rated for two stops of push?" Duh.

(And I like the black finishes, especially if they show some character. It's part of the appeal of old stuff for me: sense of history, and all. )

Well done, that is a very neat job you've done there.
Cheers, Pickles.

I love it!
Pity that here in Lithuania Japanese cameras are not abounding and there is not such a thing as "donor body"
It happens I know who did it before you, I was trying to understand how that front grip was attached, and invoked frank from this thread:
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-film-slr-discussion/185985-me-super-super-grip.html

It was in one of the first 20 or 30 pages of this thread.

Back then I tried to get one from eBay but it never turned up (got refunded though), then I forgot about it and didn't think about it any more. Until now.
Did you glue it also? And how far the self timer lever goes? I don't use it very often but I do, sometimes... how many seconds are remaining now, please?
