Pentax ME

My favorite film Pentax is a ME. It is lightweight and has an Av semi automatic mode, and a huge viewfinder. A really handsome camera also.

Getting from Old-School Metal to Tupper-ware...

True statement, that! I'm just hoping my new chunk of Tupper-ware (K-30) will be around for awhile!

Oh, I most certainly will, as soon as I figure out how to tweak the settings enough to do it! I'm still trying to figure out even the most basic things on the K-30 menus and buttons. I have a lot of "digital" basics to figure out...this is all "new territory" for me, comin' from "K-1000 Land". That's one thing I've figured out: I can in NO way pretend I even remotely know what I'm doing yet!

Figured I'd drag out my K-1000 SE and take a "glamour shot"...I have absolutely LOVED this sweet ol' thing from the first day I ever held it...and that, my friends, was a long, long, LONG time ago!

The utter "elegant simplicity" with which it operates. Set your film speed. Set your shutter speed. Turn the aperture ring until you get a beautifully centered needle on the right. Focus. Take the shot. Wind the film forward.

This is gonna make me find some film. I miss Ektachrome. Loves me some Ektachrome slides.

I'm also itchin' to try this lens on my K-30!
There's still E-chrome out there on the used market, and FUji still makes Velvia and Provia in 35mm.

Are you sure that lens isn't suffering some haze on the internal elements?

I picked up a Z-1 for $70 aud to play with and I've fallen in love with the sound the shutter (and maybe the film motor) makes every time you press the shutter button. I'm currently testing it for leaks and any other problems with a cheap roll of Fuji max 400. I may not be able to part with this lol.

I never really liked those cameras (looks wise) but at the angle you took that picture and with those lens on ... makes me want one .

I've also found the Bokina very prone to this kind of flare, unfortunately.

I think the Z-1 has the definitive automatic-winding SLR shutter sound.

I was searching for the original lenshood for my M 85/2. And then I found this on the bay… I think it looks great and I think it does its job – keeping the sun and fatty fingers away from the front lens.

lenses in the back from left to right M 50/1.7, K 35/2, M 135/3.5, M 100/4, M 200/4
shot with canon 350D + Revuenon 55/1.2 PK

Great arrangement. That concept could be a print ad for sure.

Fuji Superia 800.

These are my "new" film cameras. Up to now I've been more of an iphoneographer
My wife is the more experienced photo hobbyist. She shoots Nikon DSLR...so I thought I'd turn to film. I'm sorta into vintage goods anyway.

The K2 came from my dad via my brother. I have been told the electronic shutter is kaput.
Since I had a few lenses at my disposal I picked up a K1000 body. Just loaded film and took my first couple shots yesterday!

I noticed the microprism in the focus screen/viewfinder is not as visible in the K1000 as the K2. Is that a common observation?

Two great K series film bodies! Does the K2 have a split screen? The K1000 most likely has the microprism screen.
