Oh yeah - my camera and my wife's. I've been meaning to introduce these two for a while.

We call them Boy Camera (ME Super) and Girl Camera (the wife's MX) because they look us like a his/hers set--sort of like a mug or towel set that you get as a cheesy wedding gift.

I threw in a polaroid of us dancing at our wedding for good measure.

Nice looking cameras as they are the first two I got and still have. I do prefer the MX though as a better camera, but that is just me.

Agree. No DOF preview on the ME Super bugs me quite a bit. I often forget I'm shooting the ME Super and push the self timer lever for DOF preview. I always feel sad when it doesn't respond...

I prefer the aperture readout in the display. Also your cameras look pretty close to mint. Since mine was my uncles and used it was taken care of, but not mind. I have seen some pretty beat up stuff on ebay and people want a fortune for them. I do like the winders on them as well, they help to hold the unit with the grip.

Neither are very close to mint, but both work great.

Both were lucky finds on shopgoodwill.com. I shot a K1000 for about a decade before exploring other pentax cameras. The ME Super I got for about $50 but sold the lens it came with for $49--basically got the camera for a buck. I put some fresh batteries in it and it hasn't missed a shot since.

The MX came in pretty bad shape, but I sent it over to Eric, who got it working for $80. We plan to keep it for the rest of our lives, so I consider it money well spent.

Nice take care of them and they will last forever. My mx was a really early model and I really like it. I had it serviced once but not sure it needed it. I am thinking of sending the black body out for repair as well to get cla'ed with Eric.

Jakeblues: Nice set! I have both myself...My dad had an ME Super when I was born, and I still have it. I also have an Eric-CLA'd MX. The MX takes my vote as best manual SLR ever.

Jan67: I love pictures of cameras taken through other cameras, and your photo is creatively and technically brilliant!
