Pentax's other interchangeable viewfinder camera! If one showed up on CL nearby at the right price, I may not be able to resist either!
The CL 6x7 ad had proper photos and having the original boxes made it look promising and worth checking out.

As I said the guy lived close by and I walked over to see the kit, it was in great shape and had all the manuals as well. He also showed me some portraits he took with the kit and they were really good. He was the second owner, so knew the history of the kit. (The 6x7 was originally purchased in Saskatchewan in the late 1970’s, so it has spent all its life in Western Canada.)

The seller seemed trust worthy so it turned out to be a good transaction and I got it at a decent price considering the condition.

I've been reading so much from other forum members about the many fine attributes of the MX, I had to see for myself.

In April I found this body and lens on evil-bay. The photo doesn't do the body or lens justice - they are almost perfect, except that the lens arrived with a bent aperture ring (that's a thread all it's own - and I rather just let it go). Using another lens, I shot a test roll. Even though the shots didn't indicate a problem, considering I didn't know the history of the body, I decided to send the body along with the lens to Eric. He was able to correct the aperture ring, to the point the bend isn't noticeable, and of course, the body is now flawless after his care.

While Eric had the body and lens, I tracked down the Winder. The auto winding is nice, but the real advantage is the grip it provides.

So far, I'm only on my third roll. But I'm thinking this will be one of my more frequently used bodies, along with the KX.

Fred
Must be marvelous looking through the gigantic viewfinder of an MX that was CLA'd by Eric (Home)!

A local deal and you get to physically check it out first is a no brainer to me!

Not a new camera to me, but I've CLA'd my K1000 and ME Super and they've been out and about in my bag with me. Today I finished up a Roll of Fujicolor Pro 400H at the ball field. This photo made with my K-r and M 40/2.8 - in the photo ME Super with K 300/4. Processed in LR4 using "Aged Photo" preset. That's a Gordy's strap - a great addition to the ME Super particularly when stowed in a bag with my K-r.

Glad to see you didn't take that shot while driving. Don't shoot and drive should be a rule to live by. :-)

That sure looks like a beauty! You'll have to share some results from it!

I usually carry the Super A along with my K-5 because it works with my Limiteds, if it had Av mode (without aperture ring) it would be perfect but for street photography P mode works just fine and with a DA40 or DA70 on it, it makes for a great small kit:

Pentax Super A | Pentax DA40 Ltd.

When I want to use different films, I take my ME Super along:

Pentax ME Super | Tomioka 55mm f/1.2

When I'm using my larger M42 lenses, I usually use them on my Minolta XE-1 (I know, not a Pentax...):

Minolta XE-1 | Soligor C/D 135mm f/2.0

regards

Back to film

I'm back trying film after about 15 years. Luckily I kept my Pentax Super Program but decided to buy a 50mm f2 since I hated the zoom I originally bought for the Pentax. Since I'll be shooting mostly day time outdoor at aperture priority, I'll have the lens set at f5.6 so it should be sharp enough.

Bought a roll of Velvia 100 and TMax 100. Should take several, weeks before I get some results,
