It is the same optically as the DA 40/2.8 Ltd. so AFAIK it will work on 35mm.

Getting in on the act!

Spotted this little gem in a 'junk' shop, asking price was $45 ($40usd), snapped it up and went to find a battery for it. Found a battery and the light meter doesn't seem to work - good thing I bought a pair of light meters at the same time for another $10

Pic using K5, Tak 35/3.5 @3.5 and Yongnuo YN560-II flash.

Interesting, I was considering going back to traditional silver when I resto it... I need to fix the light meter though, and give it a thorough clean!

Edit: Fixed the meter, the battery terminal had become flattened over the years and needed a little bend outwards to contact the battery neatly again.

Well done with the fix, and yes, black spotmatics are the best. I loved mine.

Love my black MX. Scarcity lends attraction and value.

Does the XS protrude in where the mirror needs to swing? Thought I'd heard that.

Also, black Spottie!

Nice score, particularly if that 50/1.4 SMC lens came with it.

I'd say leave it black, you'll never regret it.

Yep the SMC Tak 50/1.4 came with it. It was also wrapped in a genuine clip on case.

Yeah I think I'll stick with black. I actually work with a Master Gunsmith who should be able to assist me with refinishing the brassed sections authentically.
