Remember that that radiator assembly is dumping a lot of heat, and heat = energy. There are ways to arrange the radiator design such that the exhaust gives more thrust than the protrusion costs in drag. At the very least, good design in this department can lead to a situation where the thrust/drag balance for the protrusion comes close to break-even, and IIRC the Spitfire wing radiator is also in this category.

A properly designed exhaust stack had a similar effect; in that case, the temperature of the gases is such that there is a very definite speed advantage to getting this one right, at least in the context of WW2 fighter engines. Depending on the design, the engine and the airplane, I've seen anything from 7-15mph quoted, just from attention to detail.

WWI was not like Rocketeer, a radiator doesn't do what you are saying, trust me, one of the things I do in life it making use piston engines get cooled properly with the right radiators and airflows.

That is an improved scan. One can make out the gear now.

Yeah, I've also done HDRs with those photos, which helped some.

My recently acquired Spottie F from MightyMike, added a Lucky Strap which has grip surface so it hangs on my shoulder nicely. Has XP-2 loaded as a test roll. Hoping for good results.

I had the lens here and picked up a good cap for it.

If i did get a chrome one I was planning on getting a very dark blue leatherette for it, but this one I won't change, it is fine like it is. Maybe just clean up the leatherette with amourall or something.

I did have the mirror bumper and seals replaced.

Bought it with a sticky mirror for around 85 USD and got it serviced here in Germany for another 210 USD. Now it works perfectly.

A K 50/1.2 is also on the way. Really looking forward to these two together.

Here's my Spotmatic II, bought it last summer but used for the first time this afternoon I changed the lightseal and the mirror bumper, the speeds were within tolerances so I did not sent it for a CLA. I found out that the light meter was toasted (or in need of calibration?) but I don't mind since I'm used to use incident metering with my Gossen.

Note: Got the camera and the Tak on ebay, the leather half case was found at a flea market and the strap come from a dead Zenith TTL that I bought locally.

Looks good, I use a Gossen meter for a lot of my 6x7 work.

Very nice, that will be a fantastic combo. I've been itching for a 35mm camera with a waist-level finder for years but so far I haven't found anything suitable (M42 or K mount) in my price range. The LX is the only one Pentax ever made.

My recently-acquired K2 DMD and MZ-3 haven't made an appearance here yet, so here they are. The MZ-3 is yet to be used but the K2 DMD has a roll of Agfa APX 100 in it which I've been shooting with the Cosina 19-35mm. I might take them down to the Saturday market later on.
