Well, it looks as if my Nikon FA may have found a new home, along with the MD15, SB16, and three lenses: a 50/1.4 AIS, a 28/2.8 AI, and a 135/2.8 AI'd.
So I decided I needed a Pentax film body since I've now got a few M series primes and one K series prime.
Here's what I found on craigslist:
I shot that with my K-7 and newly acquired M50/1.7. So now I have two 50s. (I guess things could be worse, right?)
The owner was happy her camera had found a new home, and I was happy to get the MX
and an M50/1.4. (It also came with an off-brand zoom, which so far hasn't impressed me in the least. But I was shooting wide open, and maybe it'll have better IQ stopped down.)
I used to want an MX back in the early 80s, but never got one. I was still shooting with my Fujica ST801 then--still have it and four Fujinon EBCs. But the Nikon gear I started accumulating around 1990 is more expendable.
Sure is nice to have an MX to mount my K17/4 on!
Now I just have to burn a roll or two of Delta 100 or such to test the MX and get used to it. It's roughly the width of my old ST801 (which has a slightly different LED array), but the MX seems much shorter. (I should compare them side-by-side. . . .)
I'm glad that my FA is going to a friend who's as excited about it as I am about the MX!
