problem with spotmatic sp shutter release button

I just got a spotmatic sp off ebay and I was testing it out but with out film and everything worked fine. But after a few times the shutter release button stopped working. Well it didn't stop working but it only works if I flick it really hard. Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?

With no film, go through like 36 shots hitting the hell out of the button, and manipulate the base of the shutter release button to and fro.

Something needs a lube, or is bent.

Uhmm, why run the risk of permanently damaging a wonderful 45 year old camera by forcing a broken part through 36 repeat operations?

Just review the Forum's Camera Repair and Service Links

Camera Repair and Service

and Send it to Eric Hendrickson for a complimentary evaluation and estimate.

He really is THAT good.

I had to look twice to make sure it wasn't Gooshin who gave that advice.
