Need help!!!!

Hello, I once again have come to my fellow pentaxians for help. Today, while wrapping up a roll of film for class, i accidentally opened the back of the camera before i was able to rewind the film. I closed it quickly... Are all my pictures ruined? I have already re-done this assignment because I didnt like the results. will there have to be a third try?

if you've opened before you've rewound anything, what you'll most likely do is ruin most of the pictures that were immediately exposed to light, then you may get bits and pieces of whatever is underneath like a few half frames. i rewound most of my film but thought it was fully rewound when it wasn't and that's what happened.

I did that once. I accidentally popped open the back before rewinding (it was about a 1/4" crack before I quickly closed it) in broad daylight to change the film, lol. Lucky me though, not one image was wrecked.

The film that was out of the cartridge but not under one layer of film on the takeup spool is done for. The film that is inside that should be OK. You probably haven't lost more than 3 or 4 frames.
