I guess the batteries I ordered for the MX are close enough to being right. They arrived today and are the same shape and size of the old ones that were still in the camera. And the MX's meter is lighting up like a Christmas tree, which is surely a good sign! I tested it against another meter, and it matched perfectly. That was at only one aperture, so I'll keep testing. At any rate, the batteries seem good!
