The price for the eBay grip is on par with similar accessory grips popular for rangefinder cameras.
Look here: Photo Equip Homepage

I don't have a machine shop. Unless and until someone here makes and markets one,
I guess I'll try one of these. If it makes my MX more usable it will be well worth the price.

BTW KEH currently lists a used LX grip B (fits the LX only) for $62.00.

MX Grip first impression

The MX Grip arrived today via Express Mail, 3-1/2 days after purchase.

Shape conforms perfectly to the MX. It appears solid and well-made.
Construction is entirely of metal, including the vertical portion. Finish is flat black.
Attachment to tripod socket via a large non-captive Allen head screw, wrench included.
Tripod socket is replicated on grip bottom. Cutout allows easy access to rewind button.

Vertical portion of grip is shaped to allow normal use of camera body's strap lugs.
Access to/operation of DOF preview lever is relatively unhindered.
Self-timer can be used but with some difficulty; lever is hidden behind vertical grip during part of its travel.

Overrall I am quite pleased with with the quality and design of the grip.
It should improve handling; I'll let you know after I take it out for a spin...

Chris
