is a pentax lx really worth this much.

I saw that add as well and considered buying it. I already have a mint condition LX which is why I have not bought this one. It really is a good price. I paid $600.00 for my LX body.

Those Cosina pics have been used on CL before in my area...

Value is a pretty subjective measure. I don't know how much that lens is worth, but I think that is a lot to pay for a body that will most likely need a CLA (which is in the general neighborhood of $200).

Yes, you are very right. The proof is in that I paid nearly $300.00 for an all black me super including the CLA, but to me it was worth every penny.

As for that Cosina, I also have that lens and paid $225.00 for a brand new one in the box and that lens is a real gem.

I can't say enough about the Cosina/LX combo. I now have two Cosinas, one on the LX and another on the EOS 5D. Great times shooting with them.
