ME Body dissassembly

Can anyone point me in the direction of instructions for disassembling an ME. I have a bit of a beater that I'd like to take the screen out of and cut down for a DSLR.

Thanks

Mypentax.com have a detailed instruction for the disassembling of a Pentax ME Super. I don't know of one for the ME, but if you are lucky it is just a somewhat simpler work than the ME Super missing some calbes and circuits. Good luck!

Even better I think, here you find a ME service manual. Password "Pentax":

Thank you.
One or the other should do it.

It works fine, as far as I know. I want to remove the screen and see if i can alter it to fit a DSLR.

I think I recall a thread or site or so that described how to cut it...does that ring a bell? Have you seen the same, or do you want me to check if I saved a link?

If you have a saved link, that would be great, otherwise I can search it out.
Thanks again

I wanna open up my ME Super too, but need the spanner/wrench tool to take off those knobs. Hard to find this tool locally. Wonder if there is any one here can suggest a reasonably priced but useful tool? Saw some on eBay, but mostly cost over $40, that's more than what I paid for my ME Super

Have you tried emailing Eric?

Being cheap, I can't justify $40 for a spanner.

So I use the jaws of a dial caliper to disassemble/assemble lenses and camera bodies. There is a local Harborfreight a few miles from my house. It has calipers on 50% sale almost every other week. My other hobby is woodworking for which calipers are essential.

Well, actually I used the same thing before, to open up the mode dial on a ME Super. But there is no way I can use this thing to open up the ISO/EV adjustment dial

Here I found quite some tools:
japan-hobby-tool.com web shop

Haven't made my mind on which one to get yet.

I too am lacking a tool to open it. Ah well, its not a necessity, but I think instead of selling it I want to open the camera for my own educational purposes.
