Advice on buying used MZ-50

I've spotted an add for a really cheap (40€ / 50$) used MZ-50.
As i have very little to no experience with film bodies and I'm not sure how to evaluate the body. I'll bring along my SMC A50/1.7 to check the viewfinder but I wonder if shutter release works without film? Should I bring along my DS to check metering accuracy? Anything else?

I have one, it's a nice little camera. The body will work with the A lenses but on earlier ones you lose the aperture control.

I have film in mine, and can't remember if the shutter will fire without film.

Probably a good idea to bring along film, you'll want to check the film loading and advance stuff, as it's motorized. If you have the luxury of time, you can always get the film developed at a 1 hour place and have immediate feedback on the results (ie. does the camera scratch film, is the exposure and focus ok etc)

Checking metering vs. the DS is a good idea, but remember you'll have a different crop factor which may change the readings a bit.
