Test results: Pentax SV / SuperTak 55 1.8

Hello,

Continuing with my "Advancing in photography by going backwards", after testing the Spotmatic, I tested my just received Pentax SV with the SuperTakumar 55 f1.8.
Here is a link to my initial post. (https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-film-slr-discussion/65092-look-wha...intage-sv.html )

First of all, this camera feels WONDERFUL. I compare it to fine jewelry. The balance, the weight, the look, the smooth controls, everything feels right. No meter, so no batteries to worry about. Handling this is like learning to drive all over again. You realize all you need is to remember the sunny 16 rule and off you go.
However, there seems to be a problem with the lens focusing at infinity. I need to do more testing on this, but these are the initial results.
Again, Kodak Gold 100, quick lo res scans straight from the Noritsu but in this case I did not do any PP.

The following 5 pictures were taken at 1/125 f16

So far so good but here is where the problem shows:
The following 3 scenes were repeated in this order: (1/125 f16) (1/250 f11) (1/500 f8) (1/1000 f5.6)

1/125 f16

1/250 f11

1/500 f8

1/1000 f5.6

1/500 f8

1/1000 f5.6

While color saturation improves at wider apertures, focus is definitely off. Shutter speeds seem to be ok. As soon as I get a chance I'll do more testing, including swaping lenses between the Spotmatic and the SV to see how they do. I'm inclined to think the problem is in the SuperTak.
I want to get an adapter to test in the DSLR as well.
Anyways, I'm having a lot of fun with these.

Thanks,

Great camera..... Great Lens. I have both (actually, I have five 55s, three Supers & two SMCs). It was my first camera/lens combination when I first started shooting four decades ago. It's still the lens I shoot with most often on my DSLR. Pentax got it right from the get go.
P.S. - Yes, it seems to be that your lens needs adjustment.
